‘Steal like an artist…” & ‘Show your work…” both by the author and artist Austin Kleon.
Is your creativity running low or maybe you just need a boost of it? Books can often be the solution to that, to me, it is at least. The two books above can definitely be a game changer for anyone with an interest in the creative sides of life. It doesn’t matter whether you are a painter, photographer or maybe an upholsterer- anyone can make a use of these books! They’re for everyone who likes to get creative with their hands one way or another. Both books are based on ten key points that are explained with text and illustration that suits about everyone, whether you like reading books or not. It’s a kick in the ass for everyone who needs a fresh start, I included.
Both books are actually very thin and are easy to get by. You can easily read both of them in less than a day, meaning you don’t have to make a huge commitment just to get a little inspiration. They’re also not like other self-help books that usually leaves you even more confused than you ever were before. Kleon goes straight to the point without any poetic words where the meaning of everything gets lost in decoration. They contain a lot of concrete tips and exercises that are actually useful and many helpful and motivating words that inspire you to get better at whatever you’re doing. The books are not only practical due to their size but also its’ informative content. I’ve read a few self-help books before but these are definitely on the top!
“You are in fact, a mashup of what you choose to let into your life. You are the sum of your influences. We are shaped in fashioned by what we love.”
